Lokoja/Kogi Stakeholders Endorse Unity, Continuity Ahead of 2027 Polls

Political stakeholders from Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency have reaffirmed their commitment to unity, inclusiveness and continuity of leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The stakeholders made the declaration during a consultative meeting held at the official lodge of the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, where party leaders, community representatives, political actors and supporters from across the constituency gathered to deliberate on issues affecting the area and the future political direction of the constituency.

At the meeting, participants expressed support for the continued representation of Sunday Steve Karimi as Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District.

The gathering also acknowledged key political figures for sustained engagement and consultation with the people of the constituency.

Those recognised include Danladi Aguye for Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency; Aliyu Umar for Lokoja II State Constituency; Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani for Lokoja I State Constituency; Umar Adamu Mayaki for Kogi II State Constituency; and Aliyu Dauda for Kogi I State Constituency.

In a resolution reached at the end of the meeting, the stakeholders stressed the need for sustained collaboration and grassroots-driven leadership, noting that political cohesion and collective interest remain critical to the development of the constituency.

They also highlighted ongoing consultations across wards, polling units and communities as part of efforts to deepen participation and strengthen ties between elected representatives and the people.

Participants described the deliberations as productive and expressed optimism that the spirit of cooperation and inclusiveness would continue to shape political engagements in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 elections.
