Chief Tony Ologun Hails APC Primary Election, Backs Karimi’s Re-election Bid
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Wisdom Gate Global Resources Limited, Chief Tony Ologun, has congratulated members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the successful conduct of the party’s primary election in Kogi State.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Lokoja, Chief Ologun described the outcome of the exercise as a demonstration of the beauty of democracy, noting that it provided party members the opportunity to participate in the selection of their representatives.
The APC chieftain from Yagba West Local Government Area particularly praised the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Karimi, describing him as the people’s choice owing to what he termed quality representation and his strategic approach to delivering the dividends of democracy across the district.
He urged the people of Kogi West and the state at large to continue supporting Senator Karimi and other APC flag bearers, stressing that the state stands to gain more through alignment with the ruling party at the federal level.
According to him, Senator Karimi has distinguished himself through impactful projects and empowerment programmes that have positively affected the lives of the people.
“Karimi is a household name and, so far, he has continued to make us proud as the Okun nation. His integrity remains intact and, when you talk about the dividends of democracy, he has an unmatched record of performance in Kogi State,” he said.
Chief Ologun listed some of the senator’s achievements to include bursary awards, establishment of army forward bases, security logistics support, loan facilities for market women and youths, empowerment programmes, road rehabilitation projects and several humanitarian interventions.
“To be perfectly honest, he has given his best and deserves commendation. I believe his second tenure in the Senate will enable him consolidate on his achievements. You only replace what is bad, not a responsive and brilliant personality like Senator Sunday Karimi,” he added.

He further noted that the senator’s empowerment initiatives cut across the three senatorial districts of the state and beyond.
On security, Chief Ologun called on stakeholders to take the issue more seriously by intensifying advocacy against the activities of individuals who collaborate with criminal elements to perpetrate attacks on innocent citizens.
He also appealed to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to strengthen support for community-based security initiatives aimed at curbing criminality across the state.
Chief Ologun described the recent visit of Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Igboho, to Okun land as a welcome development, expressing optimism that it would further boost local efforts toward addressing security challenges in the area.
