The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Kogi East, Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, has distributed rams to Muslim faithful across the nine local government areas of the district ahead of the 2026 Eid-el-Adha celebration.
The gesture, according to the politician, was aimed at supporting Muslim communities during the Sallah festivities amid the prevailing economic challenges in the country.
The distribution exercise was held at the residence of the APC Zonal Chairman in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area, where party stakeholders, supporters, and beneficiaries gathered to witness the event.
Speaking during the exercise, the APC Zonal Chairman, Hon. Alhassan Ogwu, commended Erico for the initiative, describing him as a compassionate leader who identifies with the needs and welfare of the people.
Ogwu noted that the senatorial candidate had continued to demonstrate commitment to the wellbeing of constituents through people-oriented interventions and support programmes.
Also speaking, Comrade Abba Isiaka said Eid-el-Adha represents a season of sacrifice, love, compassion, and unity, stressing that leaders should always stand with the people, especially during important religious celebrations.
In his remarks, Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico said the distribution of the rams was his modest contribution towards supporting Muslim faithful and appreciating them for their prayers, support, and commitment to peace and development in Kogi East.
“Eid-el-Adha teaches us the values of sacrifice, obedience, love, and humanity. I encourage our Muslim brothers and sisters to continue to uphold these virtues and remain committed to peaceful coexistence, unity, and harmony in our society,” he said.
He further reassured the people of his continued commitment to inclusive leadership and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the masses across the senatorial district.
Erico also felicitated with Muslims in Kogi East and across the country, wishing them a peaceful and memorable Eid-el-Adha celebration, while urging continued prayers for peace, unity, and progress in Kogi State and Nigeria.
Beneficiaries and party supporters who attended the exercise expressed appreciation to the APC senatorial candidate, commending his generosity and commitment to the wellbeing of the people.
