Erico Dismisses Deputy Governorship Rumour, Urges APC Members to Ignore Speculations
The Media Desk of Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Kogi East, has dismissed reports suggesting that he is being considered to replace the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, describing the claim as false and baseless.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the media team expressed concern over a publication allegedly circulated by one Aminudeen Ibrahim Ochila, which claimed that Erico was being positioned for the office of Deputy Governor.
The statement categorically denied the allegation, stressing that neither Chief Erico nor any member of his political camp is involved in or aware of such a political arrangement.
According to the statement, the report is a mere fabrication and should be disregarded by party members, supporters, and the general public.
“The publication is a product of speculation and does not reflect the position of Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico or any member of his political team.
Attempts to drag his name into unnecessary political conjectures are unhelpful and capable of creating distractions from the important task of consolidating the progress and unity of our great party,” the statement said.
The media team further emphasized that Chief Erico remains loyal to the APC and maintains a cordial relationship with the party leadership, including the Deputy Governor and other key stakeholders across the state.
It noted that the Kogi East politician remains focused on contributing to the growth and development of Kogi State while supporting initiatives that promote peace, unity, and progress within the ruling party.
The statement called on APC faithful and members of the public to ignore the rumour and concentrate on issues that foster development and strengthen party cohesion.
It also urged political commentators and actors to verify information before making public statements, warning against the spread of narratives capable of generating unnecessary tension within the APC.
Reaffirming Erico’s commitment to the party, the media desk stated that he remains steadfast in his support for the APC leadership and dedicated to advancing the aspirations of the people he seeks to serve.
