Democracy Day: Nasarawa Speaker Pays Glowing Tribute to Founding Fathers, Seeks Support and Prayers for Nation, Leaders

Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, Ph.D., has paid glowing tribute to the nation’s founding fathers in commemoration of June 12, marking Nigeria’s 27th Democracy Day celebration.

Speaker Jatau made this known in a statement issued to newsmen in Lafia by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna, where he called on citizens to intensify prayers for the nation to overcome its emerging challenges.

He also urged Nigerians to continue supporting leaders and governments at all levels to enable them deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.

The Nasarawa State number three citizen described Democracy Day as a unique and historic milestone in the nation’s journey, noting that it is worthy of celebration.

Speaker Jatau felicitated with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Abdullahi Sule, and all Nigerians on this year’s Democracy Day celebration.

Dr. Jatau reassured the people that the 7th Nasarawa State House of Assembly under his leadership would continue to do its best to ensure the delivery of much-needed dividends of democracy to the people.

He commended and acknowledged the immense contributions of the nation’s founding fathers, stressing that their sacrifices and efforts would never be in vain.

Jatau called on citizens to remain hopeful, support governments and leaders at all levels, and continue praying for the nation to overcome its security, economic, and other emerging challenges for the benefit of all.

While appreciating members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for their understanding, cooperation, and support, he reaffirmed his commitment to an all-inclusive administration.

He assured of the Assembly’s readiness to continue partnering and synergizing with other arms of government to move the state to greater heights and provide the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people.

Speaker Danladi Jatau also thanked the people of the state for their solidarity, understanding, and support for the present administration, assuring them of better days ahead.

He further reminded citizens of the need to sustain peace and unity, regardless of religious, ethnic, political, or other differences, for the progress and development of the state.
