The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the rehabilitation of two major road projects serving Kogi West Senatorial District, in a move expected to improve transportation, boost economic activities, and enhance connectivity in the region.

The approved projects include the Ilorin–Omu-Aran–Egbe–Kabba–Obajana Road, valued at N104 billion, and the Kabba–Omuo–Ifaki–Ado Road, estimated at N24.7 billion.

The approval, granted at the council’s meeting on Monday, forms part of the Federal Government’s broader efforts to upgrade critical road infrastructure across the country under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Stakeholders in Kogi West have welcomed the development, describing it as a significant step toward addressing the long-standing challenges posed by deteriorating federal roads in the district.

Supporters of Senator Sunday Karimi attributed the approval to his sustained advocacy for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of key federal roads within the senatorial district.

According to the senator’s media team, the development aligns with Karimi’s commitment to ensuring improved infrastructure and better access for communities across Kogi West.

Reacting to the approval, Senator Karimi expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for prioritizing infrastructure development through the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the projects would bring lasting benefits to residents.

He also commended the Minister of Works, David Umahi, for ongoing efforts to improve the nation’s road network.

Karimi assured constituents of his continued commitment to attracting impactful projects that would enhance economic growth and improve living standards.

He added that upon completion, the road projects are expected to ease movement, strengthen security, stimulate commerce, and accelerate development across Kogi West.
