Wadada Project 2027 Inaugurated to Drive Grassroots Campaign Across Nasarawa State — Says Kwanta Yakubu

A political support group backing the 2027 governorship ambition of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has been formally inaugurated in Akwanga, with its leaders unveiling plans to expand grassroots mobilisation across Nasarawa State over the next six months.

The inauguration and stakeholder engagement programme, held on Sunday at Riseingo Hotel, Akwanga, brought together members drawn from the state’s three senatorial districts under the theme, “One Nasarawa, One Vision, One Future.”

Organisers said the initiative is designed to strengthen grassroots structures by establishing ward-level coordinators across the state’s 13 local government areas ahead of the 2027 political campaigns.

Leaders Outline Grassroots Strategy

Chairman of the Wadada Project 2027 Advisory Council and Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Kwanta Yakubu, expressed confidence in the group’s mission, saying the movement was prepared to build widespread support across the state.

He said Senator Wadada possesses the qualities needed for leadership and expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would be well-positioned for success in the 2027 elections.

According to him, the project’s immediate focus is to extend its activities into communities across Nasarawa State through a structured six-month work plan.

He explained that the project’s central leadership would work closely with local government coordinators to appoint ward coordinators, a strategy aimed at deepening community engagement and strengthening grassroots participation.

Group Says Mission Is to Unite Supporters

Speaking during the inauguration, Alhaji Ibrahim Sabo Keana, Vice Chairman of the Wadada Project for the Southern Senatorial Zone, and the project’s Secretary, Nasiru Abubakar, said the movement was established to promote Senator Wadada’s vision across all parts of Nasarawa State.

They said the group’s objective is to mobilise support for the APC and ensure the campaign message reaches voters at the grassroots ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Call for Commitment

Also addressing participants, Hon. Larry Ven Bawa, member representing Akwanga North Constituency, and Dr. Murtala Adogi urged members to remain committed, disciplined and proactive in carrying out their assignments.

They emphasised the importance of teamwork and effective community engagement as the project expands across the state.

Six-Month Action Plan Approved

At the end of the meeting, members resolved to establish a sub-committee responsible for reviewing the project’s work plan and making recommendations to the main body before implementation.
