Appointment of Prince Mathew Kolawole as Senior Technical Adviser Is a Master Stroke, Says Kabba/Bunu APC
Stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State have lauded Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo over the appointment of former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Mathew Kolawole, as Senior Technical Advisor to the Governor on Legislative Matters.
The party leaders described the appointment as a strategic political decision that would strengthen the APC, foster unity within the party, and further consolidate the Governor’s support base across Kabba/Bunu and Kogi State.

The commendation was made on Tuesday during a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Lokoja, where APC leaders from Kabba/Bunu addressed journalists on the significance of the appointment.
Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, Michael Obaniwon David said Governor Ododo had once again demonstrated exceptional political foresight by entrusting the former Speaker with the strategic legislative advisory role.
According to him, the appointment represents a “master stroke” that has effectively weakened opposition political parties in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.
“Your Excellency, this appointment is a master stroke. You have sealed the coffin of opposition political parties in Kabba/Bunu LGA,” he declared.
Obaniwon described Prince Kolawole as one of the pillars of the APC in Kabba/Bunu, noting that his influence, political experience and grassroots appeal have continued to shape the political landscape of the area.
He maintained that the Governor’s decision was based on competence, experience and loyalty rather than political sentiments.
“By this appointment, it is evident that you have chosen capacity over noise.
Prince Kolawole possesses the qualities needed to unite party members across political, religious and ethnic divides. This singular action has brought an end to lingering divisions within the APC in Kabba/Bunu,” he said.
The APC leaders assured Governor Ododo of the unwavering support of the people of Kabba/Bunu, expressing confidence that the appointment would translate into increased support and overwhelming electoral victories for the party in future elections.
They further described Prince Kolawole as one of the finest Speakers to have presided over the Kogi State House of Assembly, citing the stability, unity and legislative productivity recorded during his tenure.
According to the stakeholders, the achievements recorded under his leadership, working alongside former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, remain among the most remarkable in the legislative history of Kogi State.
The group also commended the former Speaker’s continued commitment to community development despite leaving office, noting that his interventions across the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency have continued to impact lives.
They described his elevation as a reward for years of dedicated service, loyalty and unwavering commitment to the growth of the APC and Kogi State.
The stakeholders further praised Prince Kolawole as a loyal party leader who has consistently demonstrated total commitment to Governor Ododo and former Governor Yahaya Bello.
According to them, his humility, accessibility, peaceful disposition and exceptional leadership qualities make him well-suited for his new responsibilities.
They also described him as a bridge-builder, grassroots mobiliser and statesman whose leadership transcends political, religious and ethnic affiliations.
Describing Governor Ododo’s choice as “Solomonic,” the APC leaders said the appointment enjoys the endorsement of stakeholders across Kabba/Bunu, adding that it reflects the Governor’s commitment to rewarding competence, loyalty and experience.
They pledged their continued support to the Governor and promised to mobilise party members and residents to sustain peace and strengthen the APC’s dominance in the area.
