26,000 Nigerians to Benefit from Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Employment Initiative

No fewer than 26,000 unemployed Nigerians are expected to benefit from the third phase of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI3), aimed at creating jobs, enhancing skills acquisition and improving livelihoods across the country.
The Nasarawa State Coordinator of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Idris Dauda Mahmood, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
Mahmood said the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative is one of President Tinubu’s flagship programmes designed to address unemployment by equipping Nigerians with practical vocational and entrepreneurial skills.
According to him, the NDE has successfully implemented the first and second phases of the programme and is currently preparing for the third phase, with online registration already underway for eligible applicants.
He explained that the initiative is open to different categories of Nigerians, including secondary school certificate holders seeking vocational skills, graduates of tertiary institutions, and individuals approaching retirement who wish to acquire new skills or establish sustainable businesses.
Mahmood noted that the digitalisation of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative Phase Three (RHEI3) has made it easier for interested applicants nationwide to register and participate, describing the initiative as a major step towards boosting economic productivity and improving citizens’ welfare.
“The RHEI3 online registration commenced on Thursday, July 23, and will end on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Interested applicants are encouraged to complete their registration through the official NDE registration portal,” he said.
He further outlined the various programmes available under the initiative.
According to him, the Rural Employment Promotion Programme offers opportunities in crop production, livestock farming and aquaculture.
He added that the Vocational Skills Development Programme includes the Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS), Digital Marketing, Advanced National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (A-NOAS), Techno-Cultural Craft Training Scheme and Community-Based Training Scheme.
Mahmood also listed the Small Scale Enterprise Programme and the Special Public Works Programme as key components of the initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and expanding employment opportunities.
The NDE coordinator urged residents of Nasarawa State and other eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity by registering within the stipulated period, stressing that the programme would contribute significantly to improving livelihoods and strengthening the nation’s economy.
