Fifty years after the movement to the Federal Capital Territory FCT, the blessings of the Renewed Hope Agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has begin to yield uncountable results in the nation’s city.
The latest is the remodeling of the entrance of the city, known as the “city gate ” carried out after five decades of the creation of Nigeria’s new capital .
Going by the attraction of the city gate, particularly as the gate way to the Federal Capital Territory, FCT by Nigerians and other foreign visitors, it was a timely decision by the Nyesom Wike leadership to give it a face-lift of the facility with the reconstruction and remodeling.
The multi million naira project described as the face of the nation by Nigeria’s first lady , Senator Oluremi Tinubu who defied the rainy day to commission the project was a good legacy.
To mark the three years anniversary and part of the over one month commissioning exercise carried by the Wike led administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the city center bounced back to life not only on the remodeling and massive renovation but as tourist centre for many Nigerians.
With the infrastructural development and upliftment been witnessed in the nation’s city in the last few years, no doubt aside the privately owned centre’s, the newly renovated city gate has not only become a place of attraction, but a tourist center.
Since the commissioning as part of the one month project commissioning, people on a daily basis beginning from early morning
hours till dawn has turned the city gate to a place of attraction, with designed waterfalls that attracted photo shots among many other social engagement by the people.
The well secured environment that defied all forms of the previous awkward looks has become a place of visit to all shades of Nigerians.
This is a departure from the previous look where the city gate was a den of criminals and other vices at night, now heavily secured environment with attractive designs.
The hitherto daring and dark environment has been taking over with shiny lights and brighter environment looking lively on daily basis without restriction.
The decision by the Tinubu led administration and the FCT Minister’s wisdom to turn the city gate into a mini tourist park will further attract Nigerians and the international communities into turning the country into more investment hub goin forward.
