The political landscape of Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State has been thrown into mourning following the death of Hon. Isiaka Salihu Ibrahim, the pioneer Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bassa LG and the serving Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Energy to the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
The deceased, who was a prominent figure in the political affairs of Bassa Local Government, was widely recognised for his dedication to grassroots mobilisation, party development and public service.
Reacting to the sad development, the Vice Chairman of Bassa Local Government Area, Hon. Aisha Idris Aliyu, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the political leader, describing his death as a significant loss to his family, Eforo Ward, Bassa LG, Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
In a condolence message, Hon. Aisha Idris Aliyu extended her heartfelt sympathies to the family, friends, political associates and the people of Eforo Ward, while acknowledging the remarkable contributions of Hon. Isiaka Salihu Ibrahim to the growth and success of the APC in the area.
She described him as “a distinguished leader” whose commitment to public service and political development left an indelible mark on the people he served.
According to her, the late APC chieftain dedicated his life to serving humanity and contributing positively to the advancement of Bassa Local Government and Kogi State.
“His demise is a profound loss, not only to his immediate family but also to Bassa Local Government Area, Kogi State and the nation, considering his immense contributions to public service and the success of the All Progressives Congress,” she stated.
The Vice Chairman prayed Almighty God to grant the family, friends and associates of the deceased the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
She further prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul, urging that his legacy of leadership, service and commitment to the people would continue to be remembered and cherished.
Hon. Isiaka Salihu Ibrahim’s death marks the end of an era for many APC stakeholders in Bassa LG, who regarded him as one of the foundational figures that contributed to the establishment and strengthening of the party at the grassroots level.
