Gov. Ododo Urged to Beware of ‘Agents of Lies and Division’ as Kabba APC Patriots Reaffirm Support for Tinubu, Ododo

By Our Correspondent

A political group operating under the banner of Kabba All Progressives Congress (APC) Patriots has reaffirmed its loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring its commitment to delivering overwhelming electoral victories for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by Tunde Aluko Inubiwon on behalf of the group, the Patriots dismissed allegations contained in an online publication accusing some APC members of working for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during the 2023 governorship election.

The group described the allegations as misleading and politically motivated, insisting that Kabba remains a stronghold of the APC and that the party secured victories in both the presidential and governorship elections in the area during the 2023 polls.Kabba APC Patriots have reaffirmed their commitment to the All Progressives Congress, endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the 2027 elections, and called for unity among party stakeholders in Kogi State.

According to the statement, some members of the group recently visited Hon. James Faleke in their individual capacities and not as official representatives of Kabba APC or the Owe political bloc.

The Patriots noted that Hon. Faleke remains a respected leader within the APC, citing his contributions to Governor Ododo’s electoral success, including his support throughout the legal processes that culminated at the Supreme Court.

The group argued that contrary to claims by their critics, the ADC did not win Kabba during the 2023 elections, maintaining that the APC recorded more than 7,500 votes in the area during both the presidential and governorship contests.

They further challenged those accusing them of anti-party activities to publicly release the results from their respective polling units during the presidential, senatorial and House of Representatives elections if they believed their claims could withstand public scrutiny.

The statement also accused some elected officials and political appointees of attempting to shift responsibility for the party’s setbacks after allegedly supporting unpopular candidates during the State House of Assembly elections.

According to the Patriots, several of those now portraying themselves as defenders of the APC had previously belonged to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before joining the ruling party.

The group alleged that some of their critics voted against APC candidates in certain elections while benefiting from what they described as “politics of personal interest” rather than working for the growth of the party.

The Patriots therefore urged Governor Ododo to remain vigilant against individuals they accused of attempting to divide the APC in Kabba for personal political gain.

They questioned why some politicians allegedly abandoned their original political wards for areas with significantly fewer polling units while claiming widespread popularity among party members.

The statement also referred to electoral outcomes in Odolu Ward, asking critics to explain the defeats suffered there by Senator Sunday Karimi and Hon. Matthew Kolawole, which they cited as evidence against claims of political dominance.

The group further argued that the absence of a clearly defined leadership structure within the Kabba APC has created opportunities for individuals they described as opportunists to spread misinformation and damage the reputation of long-standing party members.

Reaffirming their commitment to the APC, the Patriots declared that Kabba would continue to support the re-election bids of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo in 2027.

They also called on Governor Ododo to convene a reconciliation meeting involving all APC stakeholders in Kabba to address lingering grievances, strengthen party unity and identify genuine party loyalists.

According to the group, such a meeting would help distinguish committed APC members from politicians who allegedly moved between different political parties before returning to the ruling party.

The statement maintained that the interest of Chief Benjamin Olowodola and others who accompanied the visit to Hon. James Faleke was solely the progress, unity and electoral success of the APC in Kabba and Kogi State.

The Patriots equally reminded party members that political power is temporary and urged all stakeholders to prioritise unity, reconciliation and the collective interest of the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
