Nasarawa Assembly to Screen 8 Commissioner Nominees Wednesday

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly is set to screen eight commissioner nominees forwarded to it by Governor Abdullahi Sule as part of the state government’s cabinet reshuffle.

The screening exercise is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Complex along Shendam Road, Lafia, the state capital.

In a statement issued by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Ibraheem Abdulaziz Musa, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, urged all members of the House to attend the exercise.

The statement also directed all Clerks-at-Table and other chamber staff to be at the Assembly complex on or before 9:00 a.m. to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the exercise.

According to the statement, the screening will commence at 10:00 a.m.

The House further appealed to members of the public, particularly supporters of the nominees who may attend the exercise, to conduct themselves peacefully and comply with directives from the institution and security agencies.

The Assembly said cooperation with security personnel would be necessary to ensure a peaceful and successful screening exercise.

Eight Nominees

Governor Sule had, on August 5, 2026, forwarded the names of eight commissioner nominees to the State Assembly as part of a minor cabinet reshuffle.

Muhammad Habeeb Nagogo — Wamba Local Government Area

Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed — Lafia Local Government Area

Hon. Mohammed Baba Shehu — Keffi Local Government Area

Hon. Mohammed Iyimoga Oyigye — Obi Local Government Area

Adamu Rabecca Kpadji — Wamba Local Government Area

Nawani Aboki — Doma Local Government Area
