Youths in Ojo Federal Constituency of Lagos State have formally endorsed Hon. Mrs. Happiness Idunnu C. Nzekwe of the Labour Party as their preferred candidate for the Ojo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was contained in a letter dated August 27, 2026, signed by Abiola Banatunde Benjamin (ABB), Coordinator/Convener, on behalf of the youths of Ojo Federal Constituency.

According to the youths, the decision followed their assessment of the political landscape, developmental needs of the constituency and the qualities they believe are required for effective legislative representation.

They described Nzekwe as a candidate with the vision, commitment, integrity and capacity they believe could provide quality representation for the people of Ojo.

The group identified unemployment, inadequate infrastructure, limited access to quality education and skills acquisition, insecurity and insufficient economic opportunities as some of the major challenges confronting young people in the constituency.

The youths said they were particularly interested in leadership that would prioritise youth empowerment, women’s inclusion, grassroots development and people-centred legislation.

They also cited Nzekwe’s association with the Labour Party as one of the factors behind their support, saying the party’s advocacy for progressive ideals, social justice and accountable governance strengthened their confidence in her candidacy.

The group expressed the belief that Nzekwe, if elected, would provide a strong voice for Ojo Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber and pursue federal attention and resources for the area.

The youths subsequently appealed to Labour Party members and leaders at the ward, local government, state and national levels to support the endorsement.

They also called on traditional rulers, community leaders, women groups and other stakeholders, as well as voters across Ojo Federal Constituency, to support Nzekwe’s candidacy.

The group said the endorsement was made in good faith and in the interest of the development of Ojo Federal Constituency.

It further pledged commitment to peaceful, credible and issue-based politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
