Former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Idris, has disclosed that the Ohinoyi Ogye, HRH Alhaji Muhammed Umar Azaki, facilitated the proposed creation of several village areas under his chiefdom during the district creation process, two years ago.
Idris made the disclosure on Friday while reacting to ongoing arguments and conversations on social media over the alleged proposed creation of new districts and village areas in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The former Toto LG spokesman said the development had generated concerns among residents, particularly members of the Egbira community, who have been demanding justice, fairness and adequate inclusion in any proposed administrative restructuring of the area.
According to him, documents and submissions from the period indicated that the Ohinoyi Ogye Chiefdom was associated with a number of proposed village areas.

He said the disclosure was necessary against the backdrop of growing public debate over the alleged administrative proposals and calls by stakeholders for transparency in the process.

He said the decision to address the development was necessary in view of tense conditions about the proposed village areas, particularly the reported Hausawa Liman proposal, which has become a subject of controversy among stakeholders in Toto.
Idris, noted that the development has raised questions about representation, traditional institutions, ethnic inclusion and the process through which proposed districts and village areas are being considered.
