The political atmosphere in Ethiope East Local Government Area is increasingly reflecting a renewed confidence in the electoral prospects of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with Senator Ede Dafinone emerging as one of the strongest rallying points for the party in Delta Central. His consultation visit to Eku, where APC leaders, stakeholders and party faithful gathered to receive him, was a clear demonstration of grassroots acceptance and organisational readiness.
More importantly, the gathering provided another opportunity to assess the senator not merely as a candidate seeking another mandate, but as a performing lawmaker whose experience, policy orientation and legislative interventions are increasingly aligned with the development aspirations of Delta Central.
Since his emergence in the 10th National Assembly, Senator Dafinone has demonstrated an appreciation of the legislative responsibilities required to attract federal attention to the needs of his constituents. His record of legislative initiatives and motions covers education, agriculture, infrastructure, local content, environmental protection, healthcare, constitutional reform and economic development. These interventions speak to a senator who understands that effective representation goes beyond plenary participation; it requires identifying the development challenges of the people, articulating them through legislation and advocacy, and working within the national policy framework to secure sustainable solutions.
What makes Senator Dafinone particularly relevant to the present political moment is the convergence between his legislative philosophy and the broader development direction of the APC-led governments at the federal and state levels. The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu places emphasis on economic growth, investment, job creation, infrastructure, human capital development and improved opportunities for Nigerians, while Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda is built around meaningful development, opportunities for all, responsive governance and shared prosperity. Dafinone’s advocacy for education, agriculture, infrastructure, local content and economic empowerment fits naturally within these complementary development frameworks.
This policy alignment gives Delta Central a valuable opportunity. The opportunity to retain a senator who can effectively connect constituency priorities with the programmes and institutions of government. A senator who understands the language of development and can work constructively with the Presidency, the National Assembly and the state government is an asset to any senatorial district. Dafinone’s political disposition and legislative experience therefore position him as a credible bridge between the aspirations of the people of Delta Central and the development programmes being implemented under President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori.
The enthusiastic reception in Ethiope East also reinforces the argument that the 2027 election will be about continuity, consolidation and expanding the gains of purposeful representation. The welcome extended by the Ethiope East APC Chairman, Hon. Chief Midwest Iboyitete (JP), together with the participation of Delta Central APC Chairman, Hon. Chief Paulinus Akpeki, and other respected stakeholders, demonstrates the growing importance attached to unity and collective mobilisation. The message from the consultation is clear: the APC grassroots structure is prepared to work together to deliver Senator Dafinone and other candidates of the party.
The confidence expressed by stakeholders, including Okakuro Sunday E. Onoriode (JP), Hon. Chief Love Ojakovo and Chief Bennerd Edewor, is therefore significant. Their call for unity and support for the complete APC ticket reflects an understanding that development is best sustained when the different levels of government operate in harmony. With President Tinubu at the federal level, Governor Oborevwori at the state level and Senator Dafinone representing Delta Central in the Senate, the district can strengthen its access to federal programmes, state-government collaboration and legislative opportunities capable of translating into tangible benefits for communities.
Against this background, the case for Senator Ede Dafinone in 2027 is compelling. Delta Central needs a senator with demonstrated legislative exposure, professional competence, policy understanding and the capacity to work across institutional boundaries. It needs representation that is constructive, development-oriented and focused on results. Dafinone’s experience in the Senate, his legislative agenda and his alignment with the Renewed Hope and MORE development visions provide a strong foundation for continued representation. His re-election would consequently amount to an investment in continuity, experience and a stronger voice for Delta Central.

For Delta Central, the choice is increasingly clear, it’s to retain a performing senator who understands the district, speaks the language of development and is positioned to work with the Renewed Hope and MORE administrations. Senator Ede Dafinone represents that bridge, and with sustained grassroots mobilisation, his victory and that of other APC candidates can become a defining mandate for continuity, progress and shared prosperity in 2027.
