Emu, Erijo, Arenyeka, Oghenesivbe to Attend as Resource Persons

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Office of the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Community Development, Amb. Dr. Toyin Orighomisan Agbolayah, is set to convene a one-day strategic seminar aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement, community mobilisation, trust-building and democratic participation.
The seminar, themed “Mobilizing Communities, Building Trust: The Role of Political Appointees in Advancing Development, Grassroots Engagement and Democratic Participation,” is scheduled to hold at Hotel Benizia, Asaba, from 10:00 a.m.
The programme is expected to bring together political appointees and other stakeholders to discuss practical approaches to strengthening the relationship between government, political structures and communities across Delta State.
According to the organisers, the seminar will provide an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas on effective community engagement, improve communication channels and explore ways of ensuring that citizens remain connected to government programmes and policies.
The choice of resource persons reflects the broad focus of the programme, with speakers expected to contribute perspectives on governance, political organisation, public communication and grassroots mobilisation.
Among those expected to serve as resource persons are the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Johnson Erijo; Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Solomon Arenyeka; and Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq.
Emu is expected to bring his experience in public administration, economic planning and policy coordination to the discussion, particularly on the governance responsibilities of political appointees and the importance of understanding government priorities while maintaining meaningful contact with citizens.
Erijo is also expected to draw from his experience in political coordination and government administration to speak on leadership, organisation and the responsibility of political appointees in building structures that effectively connect government with communities.
The participation of Arenyeka is expected to add a political-party perspective to the seminar, with discussions likely to touch on grassroots organisation, party-community relations and democratic participation as the 2027 electoral cycle approaches.
Oghenesivbe, whose responsibilities include public orientation and government communication, is expected to highlight the importance of clear, responsible and consistent communication in strengthening public understanding and confidence.
His contribution is also expected to focus on how political appointees can engage communities effectively, address information gaps and create stronger channels for communication between government and citizens.
Beyond the presentations, the seminar is expected to encourage participants to share experiences and identify practical approaches to improving community engagement and feedback mechanisms.
