Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba, Delta State, is set to establish a Business School following the completion and submission of the report of a committee constituted to develop the academic and operational framework for the proposed institution.
The committee, chaired by Professor Kelly-Bryan Ovie Ejumudo, submitted its report to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Samuel Ovuete Aghalino, marking a significant step towards the establishment and eventual take-off of the DOU Business School.
According to the report, the committee developed curricula for postgraduate programmes leading to Graduate Diploma, Master’s, Executive Master’s and Doctoral degrees across seven disciplines.
The proposed programmes cover areas including Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Human Resource Management and Public Administration, among other related fields.
The committee also developed an Executive Certificate Programme, reviewed the proposed fee structure and prepared a five-year financial projection aimed at providing a sustainable financial framework for the operation of the Business School.
Speaking on the development, Ejumudo expressed optimism that the proposed Business School would broaden DOU’s postgraduate offerings and strengthen the university’s role in business and management education.
He said the institution would provide a platform for professionals, entrepreneurs, administrators and other stakeholders to acquire advanced knowledge and competencies required to respond effectively to the demands of a rapidly changing economy.
Ejumudo added that the proposed school would contribute to expanding access to specialised postgraduate and executive education while supporting human capital development and professional capacity building.

The establishment of the Business School is expected to further enhance Dennis Osadebay University’s postgraduate education portfolio and create additional opportunities for professionals seeking advanced academic and executive training.
With the completion of the committee’s assignment and submission of its recommendations to the university management, attention is expected to shift to the necessary approvals and other processes required for the commencement of the DOU Business School.
