7th NSHA: Kokona LG stakeholders passes vote of Confidence on Speaker Balarabe, Dumps Ogazi
The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has urged the people of the state not to allow religion and sentiments erupt the existing peace and unity being enjoyed in the State.
The Speaker made the call while playing host separately to Hausa Fulani Community as well as stakeholders from Kokona LGA today in Lafia.
The Speaker said that the importance of peace to societal development could not be overemphasized, adding that peace is priceless and non negotiable.
“I want to appreciate you for your visits and to assure you of my readiness to continue to provide all inclusive leadership to the people of the state.
“I want to advise the people not to allow religion, politics and other sentiments erupt the existing peace,” he said
He called on them and other people of the state to support him and Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.
Earlier the Chairman, Hausa Fulani Community of Kokona local government, Bashir Gana said that the visit was to congratulate Balarabe on his emergence as Speaker of the Seventh Assembly.
They endorsed the emergence of Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi as Speaker of the Seventh Assembly and assured him of the total loyalty and support.
He, however, appealed for creation of more traditional chiefdoms for the community, the request the Speaker said will be considered since their complain has been captured by the recent committee constituted in that wise.
Other stakeholders that spoke during the visit made it very clear that the people of Kokona LGA are fully in support of government of the day thus distanced themselves from the action of Hon Daniel Ogazi stressing that he is on his own in the matter.
The advised him to go with the voices of his traditional rulers, stakeholders and the Majority of the people his LG and constituency in particular to take the part of peace.
