Honorable Suleiman Yakubu Azara, representing the good people of Awe South constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has assured the Tiv people and other residents residing in his constituency of legislative support.
Hon. Azara, who doubles Majority leader and Chairman House Committee of Works appealed to the Tiv ethnic group to continue to live in unity and peace for the overall development of the State.
The lawmaker who is of the All Progressives Congress (APC) made the call while playing host to officials of the Tiv Development Association (TIDA), Nasarawa State chapter.
The Awe lawmaker underscores the importance of unity and peace to societal development, noting that it can not be overemphasized, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to achieve the set goals.
According to him:
” I am highly delighted over your visit and to assure you of my readiness to work with you to promote unity, peace, and development in my constituency and the State at large
” I will continue to operate an open door policy to carry everybody in my constituency along irrespective of their affiliations,” he said.
Hon. Azara urged the New TIDA officials to foster unity among their people and other people of the State.
” I want to urge you to foster unity among your people. Tiv unity should be your watchword and you must promote peace, unity, and understanding among your people and other communities” he said.
The Majority Leader and Chairman, of the House Committee of Works while congratulating the New TIDA officials, assured of his readiness to continue to provide purposeful leadership in the House.
In their separate remarks, Hon. Peter Ahemba, SSA to Gov. Sule on Public Affairs, Hon. Dr Sebu Emmanuel, Special Assistant to Gov. Sule on Education, and Dr. Faga Asom, Senior Lecturer, Dept, of Library and Information Science, Federal University of Lafia said that the election of New TIDA officials followed due process and was transparent.
They also assured Hon. Azara of the Tiv people’s support to enable his leadership to succeed.
Earlier, Comrade Simeon Apusu, the New TIDA President, of Nasarawa State said they were at the Majority Leader’s office to introduce themselves as New Executives of TIDA.
” Sir, we are also here to familiarize ourselves with you and assure you of our support for you to succeed,” he said.
The New TIDA President expressed their readiness to work together with Hon. Azara to promote unity, peace, and development in the Awe South constituency and the State at large.
Apusu pledged his commitment to operate an all-inclusive leadership.
