In preparation for the November 2nd local government elections in Nasarawa State, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Council in Toto Local Government has initiated a robust campaign across Umaisha, Toto, and Gadabuke districts to advocate for Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya and Atnadu Yakubu electoral victory
Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, Chairman of the campaign council for the November 2nd election, led fellow members on an official campaign visit to Umaisha Development Area, where voters from five electoral wards gathered in number for a landmark political event.
Balarabe Abdullahi, former Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly and three-term representative of Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency, told the massive crowd that Governor Abdullahi Sule’s achievements have positioned the party for continued electoral success at the grassroots due to his impressive record in the area.
The political leader of Toto LG and incumbent Chairman of the governing council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State, conveyed gratitude for the consistent backing the party has received, which has been instrumental in the APC’s achievements in Toto LG.
Balarabe affirmed that Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya’s selection as the party’s standard-bearer was divinely ordained and appealed to Toto LG’s people to back him and his team.
Balarabe emphasized that the APC in Toto must emerge victorious, as defeat is not an option. With all necessary resources at our disposal, we must mobilize en masse on Saturday, November 2nd to elect Ahmed Baba Yahaya and the 12 electoral ward Councilors.
Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Osada, Co-Chairman of the campaign council, commended Toto LG leaders for putting aside their differences to work towards a shared aspiration.
He declared that stakeholders have reached a consensus to unite for Toto LG’s progress, calling on the public to demonstrate overwhelming support for Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya/Yakubu Atnudu in Saturday’s November 2nd LG election.
Addressing the gathering, party Chairman Alhaji Ahmed Shaibu Katuka and senior officials, including Alhaji Adams Usman Shaba, Director-General of the APC campaign council, and Hajiya Kumajo, Woman Leader for Umaisha Development Area, conveyed confidence in the new team’s ability to effectively represent Toto LG’s interests.
They conveyed appreciation to the party leaders and supporters for their steadfast support, stressing that all stakeholders will be incorporated into the decision-making process.
According to party leaders, Governor Abdullahi Sule’s strong leadership will sustain APC’s dominance in Toto LG.
Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya, the party’s flagbearer, vowed to build upon previous achievements, implement the party’s strategic plan, and prioritize governance, security, infrastructure, and socioeconomic development, while seeking Toto LG residents’ backing.
During their visit to the Umaisha development area, the delegation paid royal courtesies to Ohimegye Opanda and Chairman Toto LG council of chiefs, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abdullahi Usman, at his palace, seeking his gracious blessings.
Alhaji Balarabe formally informed Ohimegye in council that their delegation had arrived in his domain to initiate their chairmanship campaign preceding Saturday’s election, and requested his esteemed paternal blessings
The campaign council chairman praised HRH Alhaji Usman Abdullahi’s fatherly approach and promised that the incoming chairman would fulfill the expectations of Toto LG’s residents.
The event’s climax was the presentation of APC flags to Umaisha district’s five ward councillorship candidates, formally recognizing their leadership.
The campaign welcomed an impressive lineup of dignitaries, including former House of Assembly members, Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa and Hon. Madaki Adah Goje, alongside former executive chairmen, Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, Hon. Musa Mohammed Ohinoyi (alias General), and Hon. Zakari O. Sani.
The gathering also comprised former councilors, council appointees, and party supporters, among others.
At Gadabuke district
Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, campaign council Chairman, alongside Co-Chairman Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Osada and Director-General Alhaji Adams Usman, met with Gadabuke district residents to rally support Ahmed Baba Yahaya for the weekend’s election.
The former speaker justified his advocacy for zoning the Chairmanship, stating he had no regrets over launching community-centered initiatives, while also stressing Gadabuke district’s eagerness to support Toto district to produced the next council chairman
He commended Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, the former Executive Chairman, on his diligent service, and expressed optimism that Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya and his team would continue to build on past achievements.
According to Balarabe, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya has demonstrated exceptional competence and reliability during his tenure as Commissioner for Health.
He advised the incoming legislature to focus on their statutory responsibilities and refrain from diverting the executive’s attention with unnecessary interruptions.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Gadabuke district for their support and loyalty, and reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to their well-being.
During their visit, the delegation paid homage to His Royal Highness Alhaji Aminu Suleiman II (Gomo Babye), Gadabuke town’s traditional ruler. The former Speaker informed the king of their mission to launch the All Progressives Congress, APC, campaign in his domain and requested his blessings, as is customary after similar engagements in Umaisha.
Alhaji Balarabe proceeded to introduce the members of the campaign council, notably Co-Chairman Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Osada, Director General Alhaji Adams Usman, who serves as Secretary, and additional members.
He proceeded to introduce Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya, the incoming Chairman, and Atnadu Yakubu, his Vice, to the Gomo Babye and Council of Chiefs.
In response, HRH Alhaji Aminu Suleiman (Gomo Babye 11) commended the campaign council team and expressed gratitude to the initiator of the zoning arrangement for the Chairmanship position among Toto LG’s three districts.
He emphasizes the importance of inclusive governance, encompassing youths, women, and elderly persons.
The Gadabuke ruler charged the incoming Chairman and his team to maintain impartiality towards all districts.
He prayed for divine guidance to enable the Chairman to lead with fairness and justice.

At Toto district, an APC delegation pays a courtesy visit to Ohinoyi Ogye (Toto) to seek Royal Blessings.

Responding, Ohinoyi Ogye, HRH Alhaji Muhammad Umar Azaki, expressed gratitude to the former Speaker for leading Toto LG’s political structure and noted that the evident unity of purpose indicates a promising outcome beneficial to all.

Thereafter, the campaign council relocated to Central Pilot Science School Toto, the officially designated rally venue, where a large contingent of constituents and supporters congregated to partake in the party’s activities.
According to him, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya and Atnadu Yakubu were the divinely chosen candidates, and he praised the people of Toto LG for their demonstration of affection.
