Nasarawa Speaker marks first Sunday in new year with community in Angiri, Bassa, preaching love and support for Govt
Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has reiterated the importance of loving one another, embracing peace, and forgiveness to foster development in society.
The Speaker made the call at the first Sunday service of the year in ECWA Goodnews Bassa, Kokona LGA today.
The Speaker said he was at the Church in Bassa to identify with his immediate community as part of activities marking the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“I visited my immediate community today to celebrate the first Sunday service with my people, to identify with them at this festive period as I was not enable to come during the Christmas period”
“Let continue to love one another sincerely, embrace peace and forgiveness at all times so that development will be achieved in our various communities.
” We have a caring and loving Governor Engr. Abdullahi A Sule who have passion for development, let give him all the necessary support to succeed” He said.
Pastor Kefas Chindo Maikoto of ECWA Goodnews Bassa in his sermon also stressed the importance of love and forgiveness among people to build an egalitarian society for all.
The Speaker was also at ECWA Jigawa LCC, a combined Church service in the area headed by Rev. Hassan Madaki before moving to his home town Angiri.
At Angiri, the people came out in their large numbers both young and old, male and female with their drums and gave the Speaker and his entourage comprising of Councilors and other stakeholders of Kokona LG an unprecedented welcome.
The Speaker appreciated his people for all the prayers and support promising them a better days ahead in the new year just as he was with his mother for her blessings.
It would be reported that it was dance and dance all through the Speaker’s visit just as youths of the area presented him with an award of Excellence in Leadership.
A football match was also organized in his honour at Angiri where he emphasized the significance of sports in youth and peace building as he also played hosts to various individuals and groups at his residence in Angiri.
