Man kills nursing mother and baby in paternity dispute
Katsina State Police command has arrested a 35-year-old Sahabi Rabi’u for the murder of a 30-year-old nursing mother and her 10-month-old baby over a paternity dispute.
Global Times investigation reveals that the suspect confessed to luring the victims to the outskirts of Sheme village in Faskari Local Government Area, where he and an accomplice killed them, burned the bodies, and dumped them in a well.
According reports, the crime stemmed from a heated dispute about the child’s paternity between the suspects and the woman.
Meanwhile, bodies have been recovered, and Rabi’u remains in custody while efforts continue to apprehend the fleeing accomplice.

DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu in a statement confirmed the arrest and confession of the suspect.
The State Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu condemned the act as barbaric and inhumane, vowing thorough investigation and justice.
The Police however, urged residents to provide confidential tips on the second suspect’s whereabouts to aid the manhunt.
