Chief (Dr.) Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko, FCNA, FCTI, FHCD, the Accountant-General of Kogi State, has been conferred with the prestigious traditional title of Iye Ebule Ankpa by the Ejeh of Ankpa, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Yakubu II.
The elaborate ceremony, which unfolded amid pomp and pageantry at the Ejeh’s royal palace in Ankpa Local Government Area, attracted a galaxy of dignitaries, community leaders, well-wishers, and supporters, all converging to celebrate the historic milestone.
HRH Yakubu II, in a colourful investiture marked by traditional drummers, dancers, and kola nut-breaking rites, draped the new title holder with the symbolic regalia, hailing her as a beacon of integrity and progress.
In his address, the monarch described the honour as a testament to Chief Dr. Onumoko’s “unwavering commitment to public service, financial prudence, and community upliftment.”
He urged her to use the title to foster greater unity and development in Ankpa Kingdom.
The Iye Ebule Ankpa title, which translates to “Mother of Ankpa’s Wealth” in the local parlance, embodies honour, trust, and custodianship, underscoring the Accountant-General’s deep-rooted ties to her homeland and her stellar contributions to Kogi State’s growth.
