APC Kokori Ward 6 Leaders Visit Emeyese, Condole Over Mother’s Death
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kokori Ward 6 have paid a condolence visit to former member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Sunny Akpodiogaga Emeyese, following the death of his mother.
The deceased, Mrs. Agnes Imoniunu Emeyese (née Agofure), passed on at the age of 90. She was widely regarded as a respected matriarch whose life was marked by service to her community, strong family values, and moral leadership.
Speaking during the visit, the Ward 6 Caucus Leader, Chief James Omeru, described the late Mrs. Emeyese as a symbol of unity and selfless service. “She was a rallying point for unity and a woman whose life embodied sacrifice, dignity, and uncommon service to humanity,” Omeru said, noting that her impact extended beyond her family to the broader Kokori community.
He assured the former lawmaker that the APC structure in Ward 6, alongside key stakeholders, would support the family in organizing a befitting burial ceremony.
According to him, the deceased was more than a mother to her immediate family, describing her as “a mother to the entire Ward 6 and Kokori community.”
Omeru added that her passing represents not only a loss to the Emeyese family but also to the political and cultural fabric of the community.
“We are committed to standing firmly with our political leader, Rt. Hon. Sunny Akpodiogaga Emeyese, and his family at this time,” he stated.
He further urged Emeyese to take solace in the fulfilled life his mother lived, highlighting her legacy of raising generations who continue to contribute positively to society.
In his response, Rt. Hon. Emeyese expressed appreciation to the caucus for their support, describing the visit as both comforting and reassuring.
He said the gesture reflects the strong bond within the APC family in Kokori Ward 6 and assured that burial arrangements would be announced after consultations with family members.
The delegation included notable political figures such as former Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Chief Faith Majemite, and the Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. (Barr.) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe. Also present as an observer was the Life Patron of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Worldwide, Chief Capt. Anthony Onoharigho.
