GSS Koton-Karfe Class of ’86 Lauded at 40th Anniversary Celebration

Members of Government Secondary School (GSS), Koton-Karfe, Class of ’86, have been commended for their sustained contributions to the growth and development of the institution and the Koton-Karfe Kingdom at large.

The Ohimegye Igu of Koton-Karfe, Dr. Saidu Akawu Salihu, gave the commendation in a message delivered at the 40th anniversary and award ceremony of the Class of ’86, held in Koton-Karfe.

Represented by the Ozutu Ogbani Kasara of the kingdom, Alhaji Hassan Ibrahim, the royal father described the set as one of the most vibrant in the history of the school, noting that its members remain pace-setters and worthy ambassadors of the institution.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the occasion, Justice Ahamed Abdullahi, expressed gratitude to God for the unity and enduring bond among members of the Class of ’86.

He described his five-year leadership experience as rewarding and called on well-meaning members to intensify their support towards the development of the school.

Speaking on behalf of the class, the Head Boy of the set, Mr. Sani Yusuf, said the 40th anniversary celebration reflects the diverse accomplishments of members across public service, business, academia and the private sector.

He urged his colleagues to renew their commitment to giving back to their alma mater.

In their separate goodwill messages, the National Vice President of GSS Koton-Karfe Alumni and Matawale of Lokoja, Mr. Adamu Alabi (Class of ’78), Hajia Aishat Muhammed Amole (Class of ’81), and Dr. Abdulkarim Shuaibu Anirevu (Class of ’87), expressed delight at being part of the celebration.

They encouraged members of the Class of ’86 to reconnect with their alma mater and contribute meaningfully towards fast-tracking its development.

Responding, the award recipients, Barrister Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, Chairman of the Kogi State Civil Service Commission; Professor Hadiza Jumai Ibrahim of Bayero University, Kano; and Dr. Muhammed Abdulkadir of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, expressed appreciation for the honour bestowed on them.

They noted that the recognition would further motivate them to contribute to the sustainability and progress of their alma mater.

In his vote of thanks, Alhaji Momoh Lasisi commended the organising committee for a successful event and urged members of the Class of ’86 to sustain their unity, deepen their relationships, and continue to promote the growth and development of their alma mater.
