Ohizi Ogabo Community Honours Kogi Civil Service Boss Barr. Tanko Osuku with Chieftaincy Title for Humanitarian Service

The Ohizi Ogabo Community in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has conferred the prestigious traditional title of Aijimi Egwo, meaning “One Who Wipes Tears,” on the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Civil Service Commission, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian services and unwavering commitment to the welfare of humanity.

The colourful ceremony, which took place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, attracted traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders, professionals, youths, women groups, and well-wishers from across Nasarawa, Kogi, and other parts of the country.

Barr. Tanko Osuku was among 34 distinguished personalities honoured by the community for their contributions to societal development, humanitarian interventions, and support for community advancement.

Speaking during the event, the Chief of Ohizi Ogabo, HRH. Gambo Alhaji Muhammad Angulu Inaruka, disclosed that the title was bestowed on Barr. Tanko Osuku following the unanimous approval of the community’s kingmakers and traditional council.

According to the monarch, the honour was in recognition of Barr. Osuku’s exceptional leadership qualities, dedication to public service, and his numerous contributions toward the development of the Egbira nation and humanity at large.

Chief Inaruka noted that the title of Aijimi Egwo reflects the recipient’s reputation as a compassionate leader who has consistently extended support to the less privileged, promoted social welfare, and impacted lives through various humanitarian initiatives.

“The Kingmakers of Ohizi Ogabo Community have duly recognized, approved, and confirmed the title of Aijimi Egwo on Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku in appreciation of his outstanding service, dedication, leadership, and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the Egbira nation and humanity in general,” the traditional ruler stated.

He added that the conferment was carried out in strict adherence to the customs, traditions, and cultural heritage of the Ohizi Ogabo Community.

In his acceptance speech, Barr. Tanko Osuku expressed profound gratitude to the traditional institution, kingmakers, and the entire Ohizi Ogabo Community for finding him worthy of such a prestigious honour.

The Kogi Civil Service Commission Chairman described the recognition as both humbling and inspiring, assuring the community that the title would further motivate him to intensify his humanitarian activities and developmental support to communities across Egbira Nation.

The award winning legal icon, pledged to continue championing causes that promote human capital development, community empowerment, education, and social welfare, emphasizing that service to humanity remains one of the greatest responsibilities of leadership.

Barr. Osuku also described the occasion as historic, noting the impressive turnout of eminent personalities from various sectors who gathered to celebrate the award recipients and the rich cultural heritage of the Ohizi people.

“The honour bestowed on me today is not only a recognition of past efforts but also a challenge to do more for society. I sincerely appreciate the traditional institution and the people of Ohizi Ogabo for this confidence reposed in me,” Barr. Tanko Osuku said.

The event was marked by cultural displays, traditional performances, goodwill messages, and the formal presentation of certificates and traditional regalia to the honourees.

Barr. Osuku was accompanied to the ceremony by a large delegation comprising traditional rulers, title holders, political associates, youth organizations, women groups, family members, friends, and supporters from Kogi State and beyond, who joined him in celebrating the historic recognition.

Also speaking, his Media Director, Yahaya Idris Toto, described the conferment as a testament to the growing appreciation of leaders whose impact transcends politics and public office, touching lives through acts of kindness, philanthropy, and community service.

Idris Toto congratulated Barr. Tanko for attaining another title and expressed confidence in his leadership style and as well to do more.
