The immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has described Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi as a strong and marketable candidate for the House of Representatives, expressing confidence that he will emerge victorious in the 2027 general election.
Balarabe made the remarks in Lafia on Tuesday when Hon. Ogazi, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency, paid him a visit to present his nomination form and seek his blessings.
The former Speaker described Ogazi, who currently represents Kokona East Constituency in the state assembly, as one of the most experienced lawmakers the state legislature has produced.
“As far as I am concerned, Hon. Ogazi remains one of the most experienced lawmakers the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has ever produced. He understands the business of lawmaking very well. He is a committed representative who genuinely cares about his people,” Balarabe said.
He commended Ogazi’s record of service and achievements at the constituency level, noting that the lawmaker had delivered purposeful representation over the years.
“I can testify to his achievements and impactful representation at the constituency level. He has done a lot for his people in the last 11 years of service in the State Assembly. Having served three consecutive terms as a parliamentarian, he is fully prepared for the House of Representatives,” he added.
Balarabe further recalled Ogazi’s role during his tenure as Speaker, describing him as one of the most dependable legislators in the assembly.
“Ogazi served under my leadership for eight years. He was Deputy Majority Leader and Chairman of the House Committee on Education. He was undoubtedly one of the best hands we had in the Assembly,”
Expressing optimism about the 2027 poll, the former Speaker said Ogazi possesses the experience and capacity needed to provide quality representation at the federal level.
“Ogazi is a good product, and I am very optimistic that he will emerge victorious in next year’s election by the grace of God. The people of Keffi, Karu and Kokona Federal Constituency will be fortunate to have him because he will certainly change the narrative for the better,” Balarabe stated.
He prayed for the lawmaker and called on the people of Keffi, Karu and Kokona Local Government Areas to support Ogazi, saying his victory would attract more democratic dividends and quality representation to the constituency.
In his response, Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi thanked the former Speaker for his support, goodwill and blessings, pledging inclusive leadership if elected.
Ogazi promised to provide effective representation and work towards improving the welfare of the people across the constituency.
Ogazi is currently serving his third consecutive term representing Kokona East Constituency in the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Assemblies of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly. He previously served as Deputy Majority Leader and Chairman of the House Committee on Education.
Before his election into the state assembly, he also served as a commissioner in Nasarawa State during the administration of Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
