By Yahaya Idris, Lagos
The All Progressives Congress, APC, Youth Network West Africa has launched a free weekly food outreach programme aimed at providing meals to youths and vulnerable members of society as part of efforts to ease economic hardship and promote community support.
The initiative, which begins on Friday, will hold every week at the organisation’s National Secretariat in Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, and is expected to continue until the conclusion of the 2027 General Elections.
Speaking on the outreach, the leadership of the group described the programme as a humanitarian intervention designed to offer relief to struggling individuals while reinforcing the values of compassion, service, and inclusive leadership.
Under the leadership of the Director General, Hon. Gideon Olatunde Igbasan, the organisation said the initiative represents more than the distribution of food, stressing that it is a practical demonstration of leadership that responds to the needs of the people.
According to the group, the weekly outreach is intended to ensure that no youth is left hungry, while also fostering hope and solidarity within communities.
Members of the public, especially those in need of support, have been encouraged to take advantage of the programme and to extend the message of hope to others who may benefit.
The food distribution will take place every Friday at the APC Youth Network West Africa National Secretariat, located at 18/20 Bayo Ajayi Street, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the initiative as part of its broader mission of youth empowerment and social impact across West Africa.
