As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gather momentum, the Delta Central chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has convened a strategic meeting of its elders, leaders and stakeholders to strengthen internal cohesion, enhance grassroots mobilization, and consolidate the party’s political structures across the senatorial district.

APC chieftain and Director General, Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Barrister Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe, said the meeting is scheduled to hold on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the PTI Conference Centre, Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, beginning at 12:00 noon.

He disclosed that the State Vice Chairman and Chairman of Delta Central APC, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, JP, will preside over the high-level meeting, which will bring together party elders, leaders and stakeholders exclusively from Delta Central Senatorial District.

Oghenesivbe said the meeting underscores the strategic importance of Delta Central as a politically significant district in Delta State, with its dense population, substantial voting strength and capacity to influence electoral outcomes. He noted that the engagement is aimed at fostering unity, deepening consultation among party stakeholders, and developing a coordinated approach towards the 2027 general elections.

According to him, invited participants include serving and former Senators from Delta Central who are members of the APC; serving and former Ministers from Delta Central; serving and former Members of the House of Representatives from Delta Central; former governorship and deputy governorship candidates from Delta Central; serving and former members of the Delta State House of Assembly from Delta Central; serving and former APC executives at the national, zonal, state, senatorial and local government levels from Delta Central; and all Federal Government appointees from Delta Central.

Others invited are serving and former Honourable Commissioners from Delta Central; Chief Adviser to the Governor (CAG), Senior Political Adviser to the Governor (SPOLAD) and State Director of Protocol (SDOP) from Delta Central; Directors-General of State Agencies, Board Chairmen, Chairmen and members of commissions from Delta Central; serving and former Special Advisers from Delta Central; APC Local Government Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Secretaries, Women Leaders and Youth Leaders from the eight local government areas of Delta Central; Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the eight local government councils; five party leaders from each ward across the eight local government areas; nominated APC candidates for the 2027 general elections from Delta Central; and all aspirants from Delta Central who participated in the recently concluded APC primaries.

Oghenesivbe quoted Chief Akpeki as saying that the meeting will provide a platform for extensive deliberations on party affairs, review prevailing political developments, and adopt strategies to strengthen the APC’s electoral prospects in Delta Central ahead of the 2027 polls.

He added that the party remains committed to supporting the good governance agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as that of the state party leader and Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, beyond 2027.

The party urged all invited participants to attend promptly and be seated on or before 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the PTI Conference Centre, Effurun.
