The food outreach programme of the All Progressives Congress Youth Network West Africa (APCYN-WA) has continued to attract attention as the initiative enters another phase of providing food support to members of the public.
The ongoing outreach, sponsored by the Director-General of APCYN-WA, Honourable Olatunde Igbasan, in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is aimed at extending support to people, particularly members of vulnerable and less privileged communities.
The initiative, which has continued for several weeks, has seen food items distributed to members of the public as part of efforts to give back to society and demonstrate concern for the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.

Speaking on the programme, one of the officials involved in the initiative, Honourable Bolowotan, described the outreach as a reflection of Igbasan’s commitment to the welfare of the people.
According to Bolowotan, Igbasan’s personal background has influenced his approach to supporting people facing economic difficulties.
He said the APCYN-WA Director-General did not grow up with a silver spoon and therefore understands the challenges confronting ordinary Nigerians, particularly those struggling to meet their daily needs.
Bolowotan explained that Igbasan has chosen to use his position and resources to continuously support people in need, stressing that the ongoing food outreach is driven by a genuine desire to put the interests of the people first.
He said the initiative goes beyond politics, describing it as an expression of humanity and a practical demonstration of concern for members of society who require assistance.
The food distribution programme has also provided an avenue for APCYN-WA members and officials to interact directly with beneficiaries while reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to community engagement.
Bolowotan said the continued nature of the outreach demonstrates that supporting the less privileged remains an important priority for Igbasan.
He added that the initiative was conceived to make a positive difference in the lives of beneficiaries and provide relief, however modest, to families and individuals facing economic challenges.
The APCYN-WA food outreach comes amid broader calls for individuals, organisations and political stakeholders to support vulnerable Nigerians and complement government efforts aimed at improving living conditions.
Igbasan: Putting People First
Bolowotan maintained that Igbasan’s decision to sustain the outreach reflects his understanding of the importance of grassroots support.
He said the Director-General believes that leadership should not only be about occupying a position but also about using available opportunities to positively affect people’s lives.
He urged other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the gesture by supporting members of their communities and contributing to efforts aimed at reducing hardship.
The APCYN-WA food outreach is expected to continue as the organisation maintains its engagement with communities and beneficiaries.
