The Coalition of Youth Support Groups for Wadada, 2027, has said Nasarawa State needs leadership focused on stability, sustainable development, peaceful coexistence and inclusive governance as the state prepares for the next governorship election.
The group, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Comr. Jaafar Muhammed Loko, said Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu possessed the political experience and consistency required to provide purposeful leadership.
Wadada, also known as Sarkin Yakin Keffi, has been described by the group as a longstanding participant in the political process in Nasarawa State and Nigeria.
The coalition said his political journey had involved several electoral contests, including both victories and defeats.
It noted that the senator remained active in politics despite electoral setbacks, arguing that his continued participation reflected perseverance and commitment to public service.
The group also highlighted his involvement in different political platforms, including the Social Democratic Party, as part of his political history.
The statement further emphasized that political leadership should be assessed on the basis of experience, competence, character and commitment to the people.
According to the group, voters in Nasarawa State are politically sophisticated and will examine the records and dispositions of all individuals seeking elective office in 2027.
The coalition also alluded to the reported interest of former Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Abubakar Adamu in the governorship race, stressing the importance of humility and respect among political stakeholders.
It said the 2027 election should not merely be viewed as a struggle for political power but as an opportunity for citizens to determine the direction of the state.
The group identified sustainable development, peaceful coexistence and inclusive governance as priorities that should dominate political discussions ahead of the election.
It argued that the experience gained through years of political participation could provide an advantage in understanding the complexities of governance.
The coalition therefore urged the people of Nasarawa State to support Senator Wadada, whom it described as a candidate whose political history demonstrates perseverance, loyalty and sustained service.
The group said it remained confident that voters would make a wise and informed decision when they eventually go to the polls in 2027.
