The former lawmaker cites infrastructure projects, agricultural reforms and food security initiatives as reasons for continuity.
Hon. Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya, the North-West Zonal Deputy Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council for Agro-Allied Commodities Mobilisation and Kano South Deputy Coordinator of Arewa4Asiwaju, has reaffirmed his commitment to mobilising grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Gaya made the declaration at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign flag-off rally in Kaduna, where he said the gathering provided an opportunity for party stakeholders and supporters to demonstrate their political position ahead of the 2027 general election.

He maintained that the rally would reinforce the APC’s determination to retain the presidency, expressing confidence in the administration’s policies and ongoing development projects.
According to him, the Tinubu administration has taken difficult economic decisions aimed at stabilising the economy, restoring investor confidence and laying the foundation for long-term national development.
“President Tinubu took bold and difficult decisions to save our economy from collapse. Today, we are seeing the results — improved federal allocation to states, growing foreign reserves and massive infrastructure renewal across the country. Continuity is key,” Gaya said.
Gaya Defends Tinubu’s Development Record in North-West
The former two-term member of the House of Representatives, who represented Ajingi/Albasu/Gaya Federal Constituency, also dismissed claims that the North-West geopolitical zone had been neglected by the Federal Government.
He cited figures indicating that the region accounted for N5.97 trillion in Federal Executive Council (FEC) project approvals, representing more than 40 per cent of the national total, describing the figure as evidence of the administration’s development commitments to the zone.
“President Tinubu has not abandoned the North-West; he has made it the centrepiece of his national transformation agenda. What we are seeing under this administration is unprecedented in our history,” he stated.
Gaya listed the 1,068-kilometre Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, the 375-kilometre Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Expressway and the Kano-Kaduna-Katsina-Maradi standard-gauge railway among the infrastructure projects he said demonstrated the administration’s focus on the region.
He also referenced the recent commissioning of a section of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Expressway as part of the infrastructure developments highlighted by the administration’s supporters.
Agricultural Reforms, Food Security Feature in Gaya’s Argument
Gaya further credited the Tinubu administration with prioritising agriculture and food security, describing the declaration of a state of emergency on food security under the Renewed Hope Agenda as an important intervention for farmers and agricultural communities.
He said the measures introduced by the Federal Government were intended to improve food availability, strengthen agricultural production and reduce the economic difficulties confronting farming households.
“This is not just a policy statement; it is a practical revolution that our farmers in the North are feeling on their farms,” he said.
According to Gaya, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has activated the National Strategic Grain Reserve in several northern states to support food supply and help moderate price fluctuations.
He also highlighted the Nigeria Postharvest Systems Transformation Programme (NiPHaST), which he said was designed to address the persistent challenge of post-harvest losses through improved storage, processing and supply-chain systems.
Gaya noted that inadequate storage and processing facilities had historically forced farmers to lose a significant proportion of their harvests, weakening their incomes and limiting the availability of agricultural produce in local markets.
“For years, our farmers lost over 40 per cent of their harvest due to lack of storage and processing. NiPHaST is changing that story by strengthening storage and supply chains from the community level upwards,” he stated.
Gaya Pledges Continued Grassroots Mobilisation
The APC chieftain said he would continue engaging communities and mobilising support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, drawing on his roles in the Presidential Campaign Council for Agro-Allied Commodities Mobilisation and Arewa4Asiwaju.
He argued that infrastructure development, agricultural reforms and food security would remain important issues in the political debate ahead of the next general election.
Gaya’s remarks form part of efforts by APC stakeholders and campaign groups to promote the Tinubu administration’s record and build support for its re-election campaign.

However, the impact of the administration’s economic and agricultural policies remains a subject for assessment through measurable outcomes, including food prices, household purchasing power, agricultural productivity and the completion of announced infrastructure projects.
As political activities gather momentum ahead of 2027, the administration’s performance and its ability to translate policy initiatives into tangible improvements in citizens’ lives are likely to remain central to public debate.
