The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, is set to organise a mega political rally in the Western Zone of the state to mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada and his running mate, Emmanuel Ombugadu, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The planned rally, which will target Eggon-speaking communities across the Western Zone, was among the major resolutions reached at a stakeholders’ meeting of Eggon political leaders held at Jatau’s residence in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area, at the weekend.
The meeting was attended by the APC deputy governorship candidate, Emmanuel Ombugadu, alongside other political stakeholders of Eggon extraction.
The gathering formed part of the ruling party’s efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, consolidate political support and galvanise communities ahead of the 2027 elections.
Addressing participants, Ombugadu said the Eggon-speaking people had remained politically marginalised for about three decades, attributing the situation to what he described as wrong political alignments by the people.
He argued that continuing with previous political approaches without reconsidering their implications would not produce a different outcome for the Eggon people.
The APC deputy governorship candidate maintained that the party provides an opportunity to address the political and developmental concerns of the Eggon-speaking population, urging his kinsmen to unite behind the Wadada-Ombugadu ticket.
He called for a common political direction, stressing the importance of collective participation in determining the future of the state.
In his remarks, Speaker Jatau spoke extensively on the political dynamics of Nasarawa State, development priorities and the need for unity among Eggon stakeholders.
He urged the people to remain focused, build a common front and work together towards achieving their collective political aspirations.
The meeting subsequently resolved that Jatau would host a mega rally for Eggon-speaking people across the Western Zone as part of efforts to mobilise support for the APC governorship ticket.
The proposed rally is expected to provide a platform for further political engagement, grassroots mobilisation and sensitisation on the party’s agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The renewed push signals an ongoing effort by APC stakeholders in Nasarawa State to strengthen internal cooperation and expand the party’s grassroots engagement ahead of the forthcoming electoral contest.
