Oghenesivbe unveils political strategies for Tinubu, Oborevwori, legislative candidates
From Yahaya Idris
The Latimore Political Forum (LPF), an All Progressives Congress (APC) support group operating across Kokori and Agbon communities in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, has commenced grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, setting its sights on a comprehensive 5/5 electoral victory for the party.
The mobilisation drive gathered momentum on Monday with the forum’s inaugural expanded meeting in Kokori, which attracted more than 250 registered voters drawn from different communities and political structures.
The meeting provided an opportunity for members to deliberate on strategies for strengthening the APC’s grassroots structures, consolidating political support and preparing for sustained voter engagement ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Presiding over the meeting was Chief Akpobo Imoni, Special Assistant to the Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, who represented the forum’s convener, Dr Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq.
Addressing participants, Imoni explained that the LPF was established to mobilise widespread support for the APC across the five elective positions, in alignment with the party’s 5/5 electoral objective.
He called on members to deepen political consultations within their respective communities and prepare for an extensive door-to-door mobilisation campaign expected to commence soon.
He also reminded members of the forum’s guiding slogan, “Unity and Progress,” urging them to demonstrate discipline, commitment and cooperation in their political engagements.
According to Imoni, the changing political landscape in Delta State, particularly following Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s defection to the APC, has created fresh opportunities for political consolidation and stronger electoral cooperation across the state.
He noted that the development had repositioned the party for broader political engagement, adding that the LPF intended to complement existing APC structures through organised community-based mobilisation.
Tinubu, Oborevwori’s Development Records Form Campaign Strategy
Imoni identified the policies and development programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as important pillars of the forum’s mobilisation strategy.
He highlighted infrastructure development, economic reforms, education, transportation and human capital development as key areas members should communicate to voters during their engagements.
At the federal level, the Tinubu administration’s major policy interventions include petrol subsidy removal, foreign exchange reforms, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), tax reforms and investments in critical infrastructure.
The administration has maintained that these reforms are designed to strengthen public finances, improve economic competitiveness, attract investment and establish a foundation for sustainable economic growth.
NELFUND, in particular, provides eligible Nigerian students with access to financial assistance for tertiary education, while major infrastructure initiatives such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway are expected to improve connectivity, facilitate trade and stimulate economic activities.
However, the long-term success of these interventions will depend substantially on their ability to improve household purchasing power, create employment and reduce the economic pressures confronting ordinary Nigerians.
In Delta State, Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda has placed considerable emphasis on road construction, bridge infrastructure, urban renewal, education and healthcare delivery.
Among the administration’s notable infrastructure projects are the Warri-Effurun flyovers, the Trans-Warri-Ode-Itsekiri Road and bridges, and the Ughelli-Asaba Expressway dualisation.
These projects reflect the state government’s commitment to improving transportation networks, strengthening connectivity and supporting economic activities across different communities.
The administration’s investment in technical and vocational education has also attracted attention, particularly through the establishment of Model Technical Colleges at Omadino in Warri South and Oghareki in Ethiope West.
The institutions are designed to equip young people with practical and industry-relevant skills in engineering, electrical installation, welding, fabrication and other technical disciplines.
For communities across Ethiope East and Delta State, improved road infrastructure and technical education have the potential to expand economic opportunities, facilitate agricultural production, reduce transportation challenges and strengthen youth employability.
These development issues are expected to feature prominently in the LPF’s engagement with voters as the forum seeks to connect government policies and programmes with grassroots expectations.
Oghenesivbe Set to Lead Expanded Inauguration
Conveying the goodwill message of the LPF convener, Imoni assured members that Oghenesivbe remained committed to providing strategic leadership and political direction for the forum.
He disclosed that the convener would personally preside over a larger inauguration meeting before the end of November 2026, an event expected to further strengthen the group’s organisational structure and mobilisation capacity.
The planned inauguration is expected to provide an additional platform for expanding the forum’s membership, consolidating existing political networks and coordinating activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
Imoni urged members to work towards the electoral success of President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu and Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo.
He described the candidates and political interests as central to the forum’s 5/5 voting objective, which covers the presidential, governorship and legislative contests.
LPF Eyes Victory in Kokori Ward 6, Agbon Communities
The forum expressed confidence in the electoral prospects of Kokori Ward 6 under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Sunny Emeyese, citing ongoing consultations, grassroots mobilisation and engagement with established APC structures.
It said its immediate priority was to consolidate political support across the ward while extending its mobilisation activities to other communities in Kokori and Agbon.

The LPF also emphasised the importance of cooperation among party stakeholders, community leaders, registered voters and grassroots political coordinators in achieving its electoral objectives.
As the 2027 general elections draw closer, the APC’s expanding political alignment in Delta State, alongside the development programmes of the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations, presents an opportunity for the party to strengthen its appeal.
Nevertheless, translating political alliances and government achievements into votes will depend on sustained grassroots engagement and the extent to which citizens experience meaningful improvements in their economic and social conditions.
For the Latimore Political Forum, the Kokori meeting represents the beginning of a broader political mobilisation strategy aimed at building a formidable grassroots network and delivering the APC’s targeted 5/5 electoral victory in 2027.
