FCT Polls: Hon Angulu Loko Wins Abaji APC Chairmanship Ticket.
The presiding judge, Justice Adeniyi Esho, announced the adjournment after all counsels to the defendant failed to file their defense.
The party’s chairmanship candidate, Alhaji Mohammed Angulu Loko, through his counsel, ishaka Mudi Dikko (SAN) filed a suit before the court to challenge the national body of the APC for subtituting him after he duly won and was declared winner of the April 23, 2021 chairmanship primaries, which he said was monitored by INEC, APC electoral committee and security agents.
He added that it was wrong after Alhaji Mohammed Angulu Loko, was duly declared as winner of the party’s primaries and was issued with certified copies of result as the authentic chairmanship candidate, the national body of APC should turned around to submit Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, name who came second at the primaries to INEC as the party’s flagbearer.
He said in the suit that Alhaji Mohammed Angulu Loko, won 150 votes against his opponent, Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, who scored 123 votes, saying it was wrong for the party to submit the aspirant name who came second in the primaries to INEC.
Alhaji Loko, therefore, prayed the court to declared him as the authentic chairmanship flagbearer of APC for the February 12, 2022 council election in Abaji Area Council.
However, Global Times Nigeria report the counsel to the respondent, Abdulghaniyu Aruwo, in his preliminary objection, urging the court to dismiss the claimant suit for filing out of time.
