Abia Assembly Speaker, Orji saddens on news of trailer accident in Aba, condoles families of affected victims.

The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has condoled with families of victims of a fatal accident that occured on Thursday, at the Abattoir located at Waterside River area of Ogbor Hill, Aba where a loaded trailer had crashed into the place killing several people.
This was even as Governor Okezie Ikpeazu had on Thursday, directed the closure of the state’s major Abattoir and cattle markets as well as Ahia Udele in Aba.
Recall that the sad incident occured when a loaded trailer lost control and fell into the Abattoir located at Waterside River area of Ogbor Hill, Aba, and recorded huge casualties.
Reacting, the Abia Assembly speaker, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji, in a statement issued to newsmen in Umuahia, on Friday, expressed shock on the news of the ugly incident and urged the affected families to take solace in God who alone can comfort them in these trying times.
The number one lawmaker assured them of his prayers and also asked almighty God to grant the souls of the departed eternal rest.
Meanwhile, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has directed immediate relocation of the affected abattoirs to the following new locations; New Omuma Uzor Abattoir in Ukwa West, and Good morning Market, Aba, for those currently in Ahia Udele.
He further directed the ministry of Homeland Security to work with relevant security agencies in ensuring compliance.
The directive was contained in a press release by the State Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, on Thursday.
