A Chieftain of All Progressive Congress, APC, Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu has strongly believe and advocated for the party Executives to emerged through option of consensus.
Engineer Bashir Gegu who is the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources in Kogi State, on Saturday expressed optimism that the party will emerged through an option of consensus, saying the present Leadership of the party has sacrifices a lot to ensure the party achieved that.
He said his aimed to give full support to the option of consensus to select leaders by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state was to for the betterment of the party and Nigerians who believed in the Leadership of the party.
Engr. Bashir Gegu, said the idea of the national body of the party become imperative in view of what the the party has in stock for its citizens which is services to the nation.
He noted that such option will save the executives of the party from ward to the national level in preventing rancour and ensure unity, cohesion and spirit of oneness among members and the leadership.
In an interview with newsmen in Toto local government area of Nasarawa state on Saturday, the Commissioner said the other options of direct or indirect primaries comes when consensus could not be reached.
He said with the harmonious peaceful co- existence of the APC stalwarts and stakeholders under the leadership of caretaker chairman of the party, Mai Mala Buni, and the Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, 90 percent of the party executives shall emerge through consensus.
” The APC is the best party so far, as the temple is high and we shall sustain that tempo,” he said.
The Commissioner who was in Toto local government area of Nasarawa State to attend to a wedding solemnization of his political associates and councilor representing Gegu South, Hon. Muhammed Ojallah Chiri.
He advised Egbira youths across the nation to shun acts capable of destroying: such as drugs abuse, political thuggery and urged them to remain supportive to the ruling government.
On Kogi governor’s presidential ambition, the APC chieftain, said the aspiration of the governor for president in 2023 was a project of the Nigerian youths, which he said the youth are clamouring for leadership.
He said the governor decided to heed the clarion calls of the Nigerian youths and several other youth organization to contest for president in 2023 general election, saying Kogi state under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has been one of the peaceful and crime free state since 20017 to date.
“And besides, if you look at what happened in the past, where we have past leaders like Yakubu Gowon, who was between 29 to 31 years when he became head of state, which is what the Nigerian youth are clamouring for as they are calling on Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to come and rescue them,” he said.
According to him, there can never be development or employment when the country is not secured, saying the Kogi state under the watch of the Governor Yahaya Bello, is on the right track to tame crime an criminals across the state.
“And that is why some other state governors, who are his colleagues have trying to reach out to him to know what strategies, platform and formula he has been using to tackle challenge of insecurity,” he said.
