APC Zonal Women Leaders Hails Gov. Bello Over the Appointment of Hon. Asmau Gogo as SA Women Affairs

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello have been commended for appointing Hon. Asmau Gogo Kabir as Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs.

The Zonal Women Leaders of the Central, Mrs. Hon. Hawawu A. Yusuf, East – Mrs. Babe Alhaji and that of Western Senatorial District – Mrs. Ayodele Elizabeth, gave the commendation in an interactive session with the SA at the State Capital, Lokoja.

They pointed out that Governor Bello have changed the old narrative where it was believed that women education ends in the kitchen, following his belief in their ability to deliver needed results.

The Women leaders said the Governor was the first amongst others who have governed the State before now, that has accorded attention to the women constituency, while appreciating him for his gesture towards women by appointing them into various positions in the State.

The Kogi APC Zonal Women Leaders also appreciated the Governor for bringing into reality 35% affirmation for women in the Confluence State, stressing that women now have a say in the runnings of the State courtesy of GYB.

They described the appointment of Hon. Asmau Gogo Kabir as Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs as a square peg in a square hole, owing to the fact that the apointee have been a grassroots mobilizer.

They expressed optimism in the ability of Hon. Asmau Gogo Kabir to deliver the needed results saying, she’s always ontop of her games when it comes to women issues.

The Women Leaders of the three Senatorial Districts of Kogi State reassured of their support towards ensuring the success of the present administration ably led by Governor Bello and also appreciated the Governor for the opportunity given to one them, Hon. Asmau to serve.

Responding, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, Hon. Asmau Gogo Kabir, appreciated the All Progressives Congress – APC Women Leaders of the State for their efforts so far at bringing women together.

She noted that her appointment was a call to service, promising to live up to expectations.

Hon. Asmau, while commenting on the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission – INEC, enjoined them to educate women at the grassroots on the need for them to get their PVC’s.

She charged them to continue in their support to the present administration, adding that Governor Bello has lofty plans for women.

The SA on Women Affairs assured that she will use her Office to impact the lives of women positively, while calling for their support to enable her succeed.

The APC Women Leader of the Central Senatorial District, Hon. Hawawu A. Yusuf, was represented at the brief interractive session with the SA on Women Affairs by the Women Leader of Okehi Local Government Area, Mrs. Nene Yusuf.
