Appeal Court Declares Hon. Musa Gude winner of Uke/Karshi Constituency in Nasarawa.

Appeal Court sitting in Abuja, has re-affirmed the election of Hon. Musa Saidu Gude, member representing Uke/Karahi constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly as the duly elected member of the constituency in the March 18 election.

Hon. Justice J. E. Inayan while delivering the judgement in Abuja today dismissed the appeal filed by NNPP for lacking in merit.

” The court is hereby dismissed the case for lacking in merit ,” the judge said.

The Judge affirmed the decision of the National and State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital who upheld the election of Musa Gude on September 30th.

In an interview, Hon Musa Saidu Gude, member representing Uke/Karahi constituency appreciated God for the victory.

He dedicated his victory to the people of his constitency.

The lawmaker called on his opponent to join hands with him in order to develop the constituency.

Hon Gude assured of quality and effective representation at the state legislature.

It would be reported that the candidate of the All Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) for Uke/Karshi constituency, Hon Abdulrasheed Haruna and his party has challenged Gude’s victory at the tribunal.

The petitioner asked the Court to nullify the election over non proper inclusion of their party logo as well as non compliance to the electoral act in the conduct of the elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the exercise, a petition that both the tribunal and Appeal Court dismissed.
