A journey of a thousand miles begins with just a step, so says a popular axiom. This maxim is practically manifesting in the contemporary circumstances surrounding the emergence of Benue State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governorship candidate, Rt Hon Titus Uba, who is Speaker of the 9th State parliament.

Evidently, the 2023 gubernatorial journey to the Benue People House, Makurdi is on and for Speaker Uba, the PDP guber candidate, bold steps are already taken in diverse ways with victory just ahead of the finish line. The distance of the journey can be envisaged as the steps taken so far have already shortened the race track with a resounding victory in view at forthcoming electoral polls.

As of last week, Tuesday, June 7, 2022 the Governorship candidate Uba, received his certificate of return. The PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu at the party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja issued Uba the certificate as the duly nominated Benue PDP 2023 guber standard-bearer.

At the time other political parties are contending with internal wranglings and unending litigations that are pushing them to the brinks of implosion as result of the flawed process of candidates selection described by some pundits and participants as a “sham, charade and Yahoo Yahoo fabrication of figures” the PDP guber candidate Uba is energetically strategizing ahead of the polls with his valid certificate of return in the kitty.

Speaker Uba taking hold of his authentic certificate of return which duly validates his candidacy in line with extant electoral laws is no doubt, a significant mileage on the journey with glistening prospects in the ennobling task towards advancing the socioeconomic frontiers to build a Benue of our dream, as the foundation solidly laid by Governor Samuel Ortom and his predecessors must be built upon to move Benue to a greater level of development.

In his guber journey so far, Speaker Uba the Kyan State Constituency representative in the Benue State Legislative House has proven himself a focused, determined and ebullient leader whose eyes are fixed on the ball too straight to be distracted from the ultimate goal. While others are chasing shadows and hallucinating about what 2023 holds in stock for them, the PDP governorship candidate is boisterously engaging Benue people who are keen to offer him their mandate to serve the State come 2023.

Another bold step on the Titus Uba gubernatorial project is the emergence of a time tested consummate politician and seasoned administrator, a former Commissioner and State Chairman of the PDP, Sir John Ngbede as the Deputy Governorship candidate to jointly fly the party’s guber ticket with the helmsman at the State parliament.

Political bookmakers have overwhelmingly affirmed that the Uba/ Ngbede gubernatorial ticket is unmistakably a blend of an unconquerable and formidable team that will tactically navigate and sail the political tides to victory for the party with Benue’s interest as the bigger picture in view.

While Uba will bring huge legislative governance experience to bear as a two term State parliamentarian and as a technocrat to drive a vision for a greater Benue, Ngbede will play a complementary role as a staunch party stalwart and former member of the State Executive Council, himself an excellent administrator with proven record of sterling performance in previous responsibilities.

The Benue guber candidate, Rt Hon Titus Uba, receiving his certificate of return last week in Abuja, dedicated his nomination to the teeming party faithful and pledged to prioritize mechanized agriculture and security, when given the mandate to serve Benue come 2023. His vision is clear and precise which speaks to his commitment to its implementation.

As a leader marching bold steps with the desire to go far with all Benue people, Speaker Uba has never for once shown disdain or scorn toward the people, partisan or nonpartisan. Since his emergence, Uba has consistently appreciated the leadership and members of PDP in Benue State for trusting him with the party’s guber ticket and assured to carry everyone along. Uba has set himself apart as someone under whose leadership every Benue citizen will have a sense of belonging.

History beckons on all Benue citizens to key-into the Rt Hon Titus Uba governorship project as his leadership credentials are glaring. His campaign themed: United Benue Agreement requires all hands to be on the deck as the task of turning around the fortunes of our dear State calls for collective participation.
