Breaking News: Helicopter with Reg 5NCCQ crashes in Lagos, Nigeria

The national emergency management agency has confirmed that Helicopter Reg 5NCCQ Airfirst Hospitality and Tour Ltd crashed near Lagos Airport Tuesday evening

NEMA in a statement said its staff and that of, LASEMA, Fire Service, Security Agencies and other stakeholders carried out search and rescue operations.

Two crew members and two passengers were rescued from the wreckage.

Global Times Nigeria investigation revealed that the chopper exploded as soon as it landed on the building located adjacent AP filling station and United Bank for Africa (UBA) on the commercial avenue.

The incident, sources said, occurred around 3:30pm causing hysteria in the area.

Four persons comprising, two white and two black men, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) were rescued from the scene.

NEMA’s Lagos Territorial Office Coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye who confirmed the crash, said rescue operations were ongoing.

He said details were still sketchy, adding that information would be provided as soon as they were available.
