A statement signed by,  Mohammed Kabir Abdullahi and Hon. Muktar Atima, Chairman and Secretary respectively, said  the National Assembly Legislators representing Kogi state have failed in their responsibilities as none of them consulted constituents on crucial national issues like the constitutional amendment.

CNPP is disturbed by the failures of the lawmakers to perform one of greatest responsibilities which is to mobilise and coordinate opinions of the constituents on the constitutional review .

“To our greatest dismay the people were sidelined, without mincing words none of the representatives called on their constituents for their input, what this clearly means is that there is a hidden agenda especially in the area of the electoral amendments which the CNPP believe will enhance the people participation in the electoral processes where the ultimate power will reside with the people.

“The CNPP have faulted the National Assembly members for not defending their constituents who voted them, this show they are not worthy to lead us hence we are calling for their recall across the three Senatorial District in the State” They lamented

The statement advised the people of the state to set aside any differences either political, religious or sectional and unite to recall the idle representatives from National Assembly where they have turned into the tourist centre.
