Comr. George Abu, Charges Youth to Participate Actively in Politics

Nigerian youths have been called upon to be actively engaged in politics to enable them have a say in the running of the Country.

A member of the Progressive Youth Movement, Comrade (Dr.) George Abu, made the call in a telephone interview with a Correspondent of GlobaltimesNigeria.com in Lokoja, Kogi State Capital.

Dr. Abu said the Group was solely out to ensure youth inclusion into various positions in the coming Congresses of the All Progressives Congress APC, owing to the fact that youths has the ability to deliver the needed results.

He noted that Nigeria was blessed with youths that are making headways in various spheres of life, stressing that they will replicate same in the political scene.

Dr. George Abu opined that President Muhammadu Buhari, haven signed the ‘Not Too Young To Run Bill’ into law, the onus now lies on the Nigerian youths to get themselves registered in a political party and be committed to it.

He explained that the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, has provided enabling environment for the youths to showcase their leadership qualities, urging them to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing APC as party that believes in the ability of youths to make positive impact in leadership positions.

Comrade Abu said the time for the youths to take over leadership was now following their commitment over the years, calling on youths to always speak with one voice and in a legal manner to enable them achieve their goals of a new Nigeria.

The Progressive Youth Movement member pointed out that the forthcoming congresses of the party will usher in several youths who will be given responsibilities to handle, calling on them to be prepared to deliver the needed results.
