The Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT Chairman Kogi state wing, Comrade Joel Salifu has joined other well-meaning kogites to felicitate with Governor Yahaya Bello, his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja, the Chief of staff, Alhaji Asuku Jamiu, and the entire members of his new Direction Team in commemoration of this year’s Christmas celebration.

Comrade Joel Salifu in an official Christmas felicitation message which was made available to Newsmen in Lokoja equally felicitated with the state Commissioners of Education, Science, and Technology, Wemi Jones, Barrister Dedat Salami Ozigi, the local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Accountant General of the State, Alhaji Jibrin Momoh, the State Auditor General, Yakubu Okala, the Auditor General for Local government, Auditor, Alhaji Ododo, and the Chairman state Universal basic education board, Alhaji Suleiman Ndalayi.

The state NUT boss also greets the three Senators representing Kogi state, the nine house of Representives Members, State Assembly members, the state ALGON Chairman, Hon. Isah Taufiq, ALGON Sec, Prince Isaiak Shaibu, Kogi east All progressives Congress Zonal Vice-chairman, Nasir Alfa, the Education secretaries of the 21-Local government areas, Past Chairmen of the Union and the Secretariat Staff of the Union.

Comrade Joel Salifu reminded the citizens of the reason for the season which is the birth of Christ in Him came salvation to the World, asserting that love, peace, sacrifices, humility steadfastness, meek-ness and above all giving which center in the birth of Christ should permeate their daily operations

He remarked that the Christmas celebration should not be seen only as merry-making or extravagant festivity but a period of sober reflections especially as the society is currently passing through serious human challenges ranging from bandits, Boko Haram, terrorism, highways robbery, herder- farmers feud amongst other.

Comrade Joel Salifu admonished the Christians Community to work towards sustainable peace, unity, and good neighborliness with other faiths and other ethnic nationalities as exemplified by Christ.

While wishing public primary school teachers and the citizens a blissful and happy Christmas celebration, Comrade Joel Salifu however cushioned against involving oneself in negative practices capable of breaching the peace of the land.
