A councilor representing Dausu ward in Toto Local Government Council of Nasarawa State, Hon Samuel Hulegi Giwa Palasa, has joined other Nigerians to mourn late political leader and one of intellectuals from the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday evening through his Social Media handle and monitor by Globaltimesnigeria.com the council lawmaker said the one time commissioner for commerce and industry in the State was a true advocate of equal rights for all Nigerians.
Palasa said Shekwo was an embodiment of courage, whose voice was often heard calling on leaders at all levels to rise up to their responsibilities by leading Nigeria to a path of prosperity.
The lawmaker also described him as a brave and bold man, who rose at every available occasion against oppression of the less privileged and the down trodden in the society.
“As we mourn his sad demise, I urge all of us to remember to put his family in prayers, that God will comfort them and fill the void that he left behind.”
“I also commiserate with the government and people of Nasarawa State, Toto LG, his friends and associates and pray his soul rests in peace.”
He however, charged various security agencies to smoke out those perpetrators who carried the dastardly act in order to avoid future occurrence.
