There was visible excitement and jubilation by indigenes of Atte Town in Akoko-Edo, Edo State, as one of their illustrious sons, Mr. Jafaru Shaibu, entered the race for Edo State House of Assembly, Constituency 2.
Apart of his immediate town, members of his party, PDP, other people from the constituency could not easily hide their excitement when he went round recently to consult with them on his promising aspiration.
Speaking to our correspondent in Akoko-Edo yesterday, Mr. Ajayi, who had been following Mr. Jafaru Shaibu’s political development for a long while had this to say. “Mr. Fish is an easy-going man and a goal-getter. Right from time immemorial he doesn’t play with anything that concerns an Akoko Edo Person especially when it has to do with outside the LGA.
He was there for me when I contested as the SUG President way back in Auchi Polytechnic. In my submission, he is good to go irrespective of political alliance.” And Mr. Alao, a PDP chieftain add this.
“Big masquerade indeed.. wishing you all the best always…Carry go jare!” While Mr. Ogbodo, a critical stakeholders in Akoko-Edo PDP said, “Who the cap fits let him wear it. The cap fits Mr. Jafaru.”
Others too numerous to mention paid glowing tribute to his commitment and dedication to the development of PDP in Akoko-Edo.
They said it was time to reward him so he can do more. Different support groups had sprang up to help galvanize support for his aspiration. At press time, over 15 support groups in Akoko-Edo and Abuja had indicated interest in working with delegates to make sure he wins the primaries coming up soon, and the general election.
