Eid-el Fitr: Nasarawa Speaker Felicitates with Muslims, Seeks Prayers And Adherence To Guidelines Against COVID-19.

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has urged citizens to respect all government directives and health experts advice against coronavirus as Muslims celebrate sallah in order to curtail its spread in the society.

The speaker who gave the advice in his sallah message issued and signed by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna and made available to newsmen in Lafia advocates for intensify prayers for God’s intervention on the dreaded disease.

Balarabe Abdullahi who emphasized that COVID-19 is real,hence the need for all Muslims to pray and adhere strictly to the preventive measures against it as they celebrate eidil fitr in the interest of their health and that of others .

Speaker Balarabe while congratulating Muslims for successful completion of the Ramadan Fast and ushering in Sallah celebration emphasized the need to show love for one another and support the less privileged in the society to give them sense of belonging.

He enjoined Muslims to reflect on the lessons of Ramadan and continue to pray fervently for the nation to overcome Covid 19 and other emerging challenges calling on the people of the state to give maximum support and cooperation to the governments of president Mohammadu Buhari and Engr Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

The statement quotes the speaker as saying that ” I urge all of us to continue adhering striclty to all the safety measures against COVID-19 as advised by the government and health experts such as frequent washing of our hands, embrace social distancing, use of face masks as well as maintain personal and environmental hygiene at all times.

“If this is done by all of us, it will go a long way in curtailing the spread of the virus in our communities and the country at large in the interest of our health and for the socio-economic development of the country,” the speaker said.

The State Number Three Citizen called on both religion,traditional and political leaders to continued to preach peace and unity among their subjects to build an egalitarian society and assured the citizens of the assembly’s readiness to give the state government all the necessary support in the fight against Covid 19 and other developmental issues.

The speaker also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for the positive steps taken against the virus as well as for providing palliatives to the people of the state in order to cushion the effect occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

He appreciated all the state lawmakers in touching the lives of their people positively especially on this trial moments of Covid 19 and sallah celebration urging them to sustain the tempo.

He urged the people of the state to continue to live in peace, be law abiding, respect constituted authorities and be their brother’s keepers for development to thrive.
