As the muslims mark this year’s Eid el Fitr celebration that signified the conclusion of Ramadan fast, Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees Migrants and internally displaced persons NCFRMI says without adequate attention to the persons of concern POC’s, it will amount to social disequilibrium and stratification in Nigeria.
In her Sallah message to mark the occasion, the commissioner opined that government alone cannot afford to shoulder the current responsibility, amid growing demands, saying collective responsibility from all and sundry should be adopted.
She says as part of lessons learnt from the spiritual exercise of 30 days , the issue of the vulnerable groups which includes the IDPs was strongly highlighted in the holy book both in theory and practice.
The commissioner asked Nigerians to put to practice the gesture of giving back to the society by considering the distressed ones scattered all over the country, to complement government efforts.
She commended the president Muhammed Buhari led administration for the amount of investment and attention given to persons of concern.
She assured the IDPs that government will sustain the current trend and attention to the camps in all areas, saying it’s determination for early return to their original homes is non negotiable.
The commissioner prayed for a happy celebration and wishing them many more years of celebration.
