Ex-Abia Guber candidate, Anyim applauds Donatus Nwankpa’s nomination as APC welfare scribe

The representative of southeast zone in National Pension Commission (PENCOM), and former Governorship candidate in Abia State, Dr Nyerere Anyim, has described the former Abia state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Hon Donatus Nwankpa, as an astute political leader with uncommon capacity.
Anyim who stated this in a statement issued on Friday night, congratulating Nwankpa on his meticulous emergence as the national welfare secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the country.
The latest elevation of the ex-Abia party chairman, followed the unfortunate death of former occupant from Abia, Barrister Friday Nwosu in March 2023.
The late Nwosu was elected as the welfare officer of the governing APC in the country at a well-concluded national convention of the party which took place in March 2022 in Abuja.
However, the leadership of the progressive party had on Wednesday, released am amended lists of names of party members to fill some vacant position of the national working committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr Donatus Nwamkpa, was nominated and inaugurated to fill the vacant position of National Welfare Secretary of the party
Earlier, Anyim while baring his minds, noted that Nwankpa has demonstrated capacity in political leadership, having served as a state lawmaker and chairman of a leading opposition political party in Abia state.
He recalled many contributions and roles played by Nwankpa to the development of APC in Abia, and noted also that the overwhelming acceptability and popularity which the party enjoys among the large population of Abians was engendered under then chairmanship of Hon Donatus Nwamkpa.
The former APC national vice chairman southeastern Nigeria, confided that Nwankpa, having displayed team spirit, capacity and ability as a dedicated party man will not disappoint the party in this new onerous task in taking APC to higher pedestal, especially in the party’s efforts to achieve electoral success and form a government in Abia, and all other states in southeast region
Anyim who further used the medium to frown at the lingering internal crisis in Abia APC which was necessitated by clashes of interests by critical party stakeholders, and however, sued for unity and team work among members of the party in order to secure a win in majority of elective political seats in the state and the southeast at large.
His words: “This clash of interests being witnessed in the fold of Abia APC has done us no good but rather, it has caused the party huge damages in political development.
“All party members who are genuine lovers of democracy must sheathe their swords for the APC to record electoral breakthrough in future elections and assume the leadership in all states in southeast more especially, Abia and provide basic dividends of democracy to every doorsteps of Abia populaces
